PocketBench Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
PocketBench is an Android app for building Android apps on your phone, with an optional AI assistant. This policy explains what PocketBench does with your data.
The short version
- The developer of PocketBench never receives your data. PocketBench has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no servers run by the developer. Your code, prompts, keys and usage stay on your phone unless you send them somewhere yourself.
- When you use a feature that talks to another service, such as an AI provider, a git host or Google Play, PocketBench sends that service only what the feature needs. That service's own privacy policy applies.
Data you choose to send to other services
- Your AI provider. When you send a message to the AI assistant, PocketBench sends the provider you chose your message, the conversation so far, any images you attach, screenshots of your app the assistant takes, and the project files and command output the assistant reads, together with your API key. Providers include Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, Ollama Cloud, Groq and DeepSeek, or a server you run yourself. PocketBench also asks the provider for its list of models, a model's context size and, for OpenRouter, its prices. Nothing is sent to a provider until you set one up.
- Your git host. When you clone, push or pull, PocketBench exchanges your project's files and commits with the git address you entered, using the username and token you gave it, or an SSH key PocketBench created on your phone. The SSH private key never leaves your phone.
- MCP servers you add. If you add an MCP server (a plug-in service such as PixelLab or Ludo), PocketBench sends it the tool inputs the assistant produces and the token you set for it, and downloads files its tools return. This happens only when the assistant uses that server's tools, after you approve each call or choose to always allow it.
- Google Play, if you upload an app. If you add a Google Play service account key, PocketBench uses it to upload the apps you build, their release notes and their store listing to your own Play Console account.
- Build downloads. To build apps, PocketBench downloads Android SDK files, NDK files and libraries from Google and Maven Central. These requests contain no personal data or project content.
- Feedback and crash reports you send. If you choose to send feedback or a crash report, PocketBench opens your email app with the report filled in; you can read and edit it before sending. Reports have API keys, tokens and similar secrets removed before you see them. Nothing is sent unless you send the email.
Purchases
PocketBench Pro is bought through Google Play, which handles payment under Google's terms. PocketBench never sees your payment details. It keeps on your phone only whether you have Pro, plus the purchase's plan and token that it needs to recognise the purchase.
Information Google Play collects
Like any app installed from Google Play, Google may collect crash and performance data (Android vitals) according to your phone's settings and Google's privacy policy. This data is anonymous to the developer and contains no project content.
Data stored on your phone
- Your projects, conversations, crash reports and settings are stored only in PocketBench's private storage on your phone. The conversation database is encrypted.
- API keys, git tokens, the Google Play key and signing keys are protected with the Android Keystore. The Play key and signing keys also need your screen lock.
- PocketBench turns off Android cloud backup, so this data isn't copied to your Google account.
- Notifications about the assistant's progress are created on your phone, and nothing about them is sent anywhere.
Deleting your data
PocketBench has no accounts and no server, so everything it stores is on your phone, and you delete it yourself in the app. There's nothing to request from us.
To delete one project: on the Projects screen, tap the bin icon on the project and confirm. This removes the project's files, its conversations with the AI assistant, its memories, plans and crash reports, its checkpoints, and the images attached to its conversations.
To delete one conversation: in the assistant, open Conversations (the history icon) and delete the conversation. Its messages and images are removed.
To delete your keys: clear the API key, git token or MCP token in Settings, or delete the Google Play key and signing keys on their own screens.
To delete everything: uninstall PocketBench, or clear its storage in Android's app settings. This removes all projects, conversations, settings and keys at once.
Deletion happens straight away. PocketBench keeps no copies and has no retention period, and because Android cloud backup is turned off, no copy is kept in your Google account.
Data held by other services: anything you sent to your AI provider, git host or MCP servers, and your purchase records with Google Play, are kept under those services' own policies. Use their tools to delete it. If you need help, email support@pocketbench.co.uk.
Children
PocketBench is a developer tool and isn't directed at children.
